Basement ADU
This project is much more than meets the eye. Our client had a low ceiling basement that needed an extra two feet dug out to get these 8-foot ceilings (a-typical for your average basement).
Once the basement floor had been dug down, a new foundation with a radiant heating concrete floor shored up the house. Earthquake proofing as well as sound proofing were added for safety and comfort. The one-bedroom apartment then had a bathroom and kitchenette added. To top it off, a new entry stairway reaches down from the side of the house.
The accessory dwelling unit is now used to generate income as an Airbnb apartment completely separated from the main house.
